The BFEG were commissioned to advise on the ethical issues in the use of live facial recognition (LFR) technology in collaborations between police forces and private entities.
This briefing note contains evidence that has been gathered by the BFEG’s Facial Recognition Working Group from stakeholders in industry, regulation, civil liberties, and policing.
The note outlines questions that should be addressed prior to setting up public-private collaborations (P-PCs) in the use of LFR and makes recommendations that should be followed by those involved in LFR P-PCs.
