Details

The government has commissioned a review of the public sector telecommunications and digital infrastructure. This will cover fixed and mobile telecommunications infrastructure and bundled infrastructure services. It will include networks which are directly owned, operated or leased, as well as the provision of infrastructure services.

The first stage of this review has identified a set of maps and data. We are publishing maps and data in interim form to increase transparency and aid collaboration to get better connectivity for the public. The data is for:

  • JANET – the UK education and research network
  • National Roads Telecommunications Service (from the Highways Agency)
  • Network Rail Telecoms
  • Defence Fixed Telecommunications Service
  • Health and Social Care Network (N3)

For more information, see the press release about how the government plans to use this publicly owned digital infrastructure.
