Pupil behaviour survey: pilot study

Details

This research report presents the findings from a pilot study of a pupil behaviour survey. The pilot aimed to test 2 main survey delivery approaches:

  • sampling pupils directly from the National Pupil Database (NPD)
  • sampling pupils via their schools

The pupil behaviour survey was sent to a sample of secondary school pupils and schools in mainstream schools in England.

The pilot explored the use of reminders and incentives on achieved survey response rates and sample balance.
