Details
Under the Rabies (Importation of Dogs, Cats and Other Mammals) Order 1974, premises used for the isolation and detention of any animal imported in Great Britain must be authorised by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) to operate as a quarantine facility for dogs and cats.
The application form (ID96) should be completed by the operator of the premises to apply for this approval.
The licence form (ID50) describes the standard requirements of an authorised quarantine premises including:
- layout and design of premises
- requirements for the dog and cat units
- site operations and management
- record keeping
Please ensure you have read and understood these requirements before you complete the application form (ID96).
