Details

Radioactive material was detected on a part of the foreshore at Dalgety Bay, in Fife, in 1990. This guidance was issued originally by the Health Protection Agency (HPA) (now part of PHE) and explains where the material came from and that the overall health risk of activities on or around the beach is likely to be low.

The HPA also published a report, HPA-CRCE-040: Scoping health risk assessment for beach users at Dalgety Bay to support advice to Scottish Government Given in February 2012.
