The Rapid Rehousing Pathway was launched as part of the Rough Sleeping Strategy in August 2018. The pathway brings together 4 policy elements (Somewhere Safe to Stay, Supported Lettings, Navigators and Local Lettings Agencies) that will help rough sleepers, and those at risk of rough sleeping, access the support and settled housing they need to leave the streets for good.
This round is for all 4 elements of the pathway and will increase the provision available for rough sleepers, and those at risk of sleeping rough, in 108 areas across the country. Provision is included for 20 additional Somewhere Safe to Stay hubs, which will bring the total number of hubs to 31. This is 16 more than the minimum we committed to in the 2018 Rough Sleeping Strategy. Additionally, this round will fund Supported Lettings in 61 areas, enable more than 130 new Navigators to be employed and establish or support 30 local lettings agencies.
This round of funding follows the funding of 11 Somewhere Safe to Stay hubs, announced in December 2018.
An additional 42 Early Adopter areas, which deliver the other 3 elements of the pathway, were announced in February 2019.
