Reception baseline research: brief

Reception baseline research: results of a randomised controlled trial

Details

The reception baseline assessment is a measure used to assess the progress of children from entry (at age 4 to 5) to the end of key stage 2 (age 10 to 11).

The first and second reports present evidence about the views of teachers, school leaders, parents and carers towards reception baseline testing.

The third report presents results from a trial testing whether schools’ perceptions of the purpose of the reception baseline test led to differences in pupils’ early attainment.
