Details

Academies and academy trusts should follow good practice in relation to record keeping and retention.

This guidance sets out:

  • an introduction to record keeping, including what records should be kept by an academy or trust, how long to retain records and how records should be disposed
  • what should happen to records when an academy or trust closes
  • how to access pupil and staff records if they are transferred to a local authority
