Introduction

Dear provider and local authority,

The Reducing Parental Conflict (RPC) programme’s approach is to continuously review ongoing delivery to improve the provision. During the current coronavirus (COVID-19) period the completion of Referral Stage, Initial Assessment and Post Assessment Questionnaires cannot be performed in the standard face-to-face manner.

Parents must be supported when completing the questionnaires in order to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the information collected and all sensitive personal data is transferred securely.

Summary and action

As you are aware to help deliver a robust evaluation of the Reducing Parental Conflict programme, it is imperative that parents participating in the programme complete an Initial Assessment Questionnaire (IAQ) and a Post Assessment Questionnaire (PAQ).

These questionnaires must be completed with the support of providers in order to ensure that parents fully understand each question and provide the correct information. This is so that accurate data will be captured and sent to Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for the official programme evaluation.

Where providers request parents complete the Referral Stage Questionnaires (RSQ), IAQ and PAQ;

  • IAQs must be completed during the Initial Assessment (as per provider guidance)
  • PAQs must be completed after the final intervention either as the last part of the final intervention or during a further telephone or online interaction with the parent

Blank questionnaires can be issued in readiness for completion. Providers must record parent responses, given verbally over the phone or online by parents on the RSQ or IAQ or PAQ thus negating the need for posting or emailing the document out to parents for completion and return.

Updated provider guidance will be with you shortly. This change must be implemented with immediate effect.
