Dear provider and local authority,
The following communications arrangements should be adopted now that the Reducing Parental Conflict (RPC) Face to Face Provision has entered its Live Running phase:
Allowing the delivery of Incredible Years (IY) Advanced Intervention to parents who have not previously completed the Basic IY course.
Summary and Action
Currently, parents participating in the RPC programme who have been assigned an IY intervention must have completed the IY Basic course prior to starting Advanced IY.
Where Parents have not completed the IY Basic prior to starting the programme this is delivered by the Provider prior to delivering the IY Advanced element of the intervention.
The IY intervention owner has confirmed that participant’s may move to the advanced element of the course without previously completing the IY Basic intervention.
In order to allow Management Information to be captured about this process change and to allow the RPC analysts to be able to measure the impact of the change the steps below must be implemented by Providers. During the initial assessment Providers must ask parents if they have completed the IY Basic course within the last 2 years.
Where parents have completed the IY Basic course within 2 years of joining the RPC programme the following action must be taken by Providers:
- within the Intervention Plan next to “Name of Support being offered” the Provider must record as free text “The Incredible Years, including Advanced Programme”
Where the IY Basic course was delivered more than 2 years before parents joined the RPC programme or the parent has never completed the IY Basic, the following action must be taken by Providers:
- within the Intervention Plan next to “Name of Support being offered” the Provider must record as free text “Incredible Years T2”
