This guide sets out the key information for lenders who are currently providing mortgage finance to council or housing association tenants exercising their Right to Buy about how the new changes to the policy will affect them.

It includes details about tenant eligibility, discount repayment and the protections available for mortgage lenders.

These changes took effect from 2 April 2012.
