The Committee on Carcinogenicity of Chemicals in Food, Consumer Products and the Environment (COC) prepared this statement in response to a request from the Department for Education (DfE). The statement sets out the committee’s views on the relative vulnerability of children to asbestos, and it informed the discussions of the independent Asbestos in Schools Steering Group.
