Renaker Build Limited: application made to abstract water

Renaker Build Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from underground strata consisting of Permo-Triassic Sandstone from an area between National Grid References SJ 82705 97822, SJ 82722 97822, SJ 82736 97704 and SJ 82646 97718 at Trinity Island, Manchester to transfer it to the River Irwell at National Grid Reference SJ 82667 97776 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 31 cubic metres an hour
- 725 cubic metres a day
- 264,625 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
Abstraction will take place for the purpose of dewatering for construction of a number of high-rises and multi-use buildings with associated basements.
