Report of the independent investigation into Capture accounting software
A review of findings on software developed by Post Office in the 1990s, which was meant to assist sub-postmasters with balancing and periodic reconciliations.

This report, provided by Kroll, will support the government in determining whether postmasters have faced detriment due to the Capture system, and what steps should be taken.
The government published their response to the report on 17 December 2024.

The report has been amended to remove the ‘restricted use’ warning and clarify that it is a Crown-owned copyright. The document is now made available for re-use under the Open Government Licence (OGL), in line with guidance from The National Archives.
