This report explores the relationship between public and private investment in research and development (R&D). It considers the extent to which public funding leverages in private funding for R&D. Analysis takes place at the national level as well as at the level of higher education institutions.

The report was commissioned by BIS and carried out by Economic Insight Ltd.
