In March this year Lord Bew appeared before of the House of Lords Select Committee to give evidence on the Trade Union Bill. The Select Committee was appointed to consider the impact of the Trade Union Bill.
Lord Bew stated that given the time that has elapsed since the Committee’s 2011 report Political Party Finance: Ending the big donor culture, it was important to update the figures on which that report was based.
To this end we commissioned Dr Michael Pinto-Duschinsky to update and extend his previous contributions on this topic.
These papers represent Dr Pinto-Duschinsky’s personal views on the issues covered and not those of the Committee.
We will also be publishing shortly results from the British Election Study on questions on party funding.
