Details

HMRC commissioned Ipsos to conduct research with customs intermediaries. This research aimed to:

  • accurately estimate the size and capacity of the customs intermediary population and the sub-groups within it
  • build on previous research designs to create a more robust sample frame and method for conducting surveys with this population
  • better understand the population in terms of structure, characteristics, and the services that customs intermediaries provide for their customers

The Wave 3 survey took place between 26 March and 6 May 2021 and consisted of 473 telephone interviews with 15 follow-up, qualitative in-depth interviews conducted between 5 and 16 July 2021.

The Wave 4 survey took place between 23 September and 9 November 2021 and consisted of 344 telephone interviews with15 follow-up, qualitative in-depth interviews conducted between 25 October and 8 November 2021.

The Wave 5 survey took place between 17 February and 22 March 2022 and consisted of 257 telephone interviews with 15 follow-up, qualitative in-depth interviews conducted between 17 and 31 March 2022.

The findings in these reports were correct at the time of asking but do not necessarily reflect policy at the time of publication
