Details

This research was undertaken to gain a greater understanding of the characteristics, experiences and support needs of the trusted helper population - those who need help with their tax affairs, and those who help them.

The report looks at both those who are registered with the HMRC Trusted Helper service, as well as those who give or receive help informally.

The objectives were to understand:

  • the characteristics of trusted helpers and those who they help
  • their experiences of interacting with HMRC

The fieldwork took place between 10 June and 9 July 2019.
