This report has been prepared by ICF Consulting Services and assesses the impact and effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and the court system in resolving consumer disputes with traders.

The specific objectives of the study are to:

  • assess the effectiveness and impact of the court system and ADR in resolving consumer disputes
  • suggest indicators which could be used for ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of consumer ADR in the UK
