A member of the Office of the Biometrics and Surveillance Camera Commissioner wrote to the Cabinet Office via email between 16 March and 20 April seeking an opportunity for the Commissioner to engage with the Public Procurement Bill.
The Commissioner has spoken out publicly on matters pertaining to ethical procurement of surveillance camera technology and during his discussions with ministers on these issues has been directed to engage with the Cabinet Office on the Bill as the appropriate avenue to address his concerns.
The Cabinet Office responded 27 April 2022 with an update.
