The government has set out a series of actions to steward our natural heritage and support responsible access to it.

This includes a plan to recover England’s temperate rainforests, the government’s response to the 2019 Landscapes review, and supporting more people to enjoy our woodlands through the Woodland Access Implementation Plan.

The government also announced that it has launched the process for a new National Park and a competition for a new National Forest, as well as the creation of 34 new Landscape Recovery projects across England and 2 new community forests.

These actions will build on the Glasgow Climate COP agreement to halt and reverse forest loss and land degradation this decade, and help the government to deliver its commitments to protect 30% of land and sea by 2030.
