Decision made by the Charity Commission on 9 December 2014
The Commission opened a statutory inquiry into the Charity using its powers under s.46 of the Charities Act 2011.
The Charity sought a decision review on the basis that it objected to the opening of the inquiry and therefore the Commission conducted a review under its review procedures.
The Reviewers considered the objections as well as further information submitted with the request for a review and concluded that the decision to open the inquiry was a reasonable, proportionate and lawful decision, properly taken.
The Reviewers also concluded that were a decision to be made to open the inquiry at the date of the decision review, the grounds and evidence continued to support such a decision.
