This report examines: the change in scope and responsibility since the first Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) were elected; the differentials between PCCs in different areas; the extent to which taking on responsibilities for Fire and Rescue Services affects the job size of the PCC office; and which other roles are of a similar job size and responsibility level.
