Details

The Centre for Workforce Intelligence (CfWI) was commissioned by the Department of Health and Health Education England (HEE) to contribute research, data analysis, and modelling to support them in providing sufficient ultrasound practitioners for diagnostic services across England.

This review was split into 2 phases:

  • an ultrasound workforce survey and interviews with a range of stakeholders and acknowledged experts in the field of ultrasound imaging
  • further work to model the current and forecast demand for, and supply of, this workforce

This report is a summary of the ultrasound workforce survey findings and initial ultrasound activity analysis. The modelling work is being taken forward by HEE.
