This direction requires the Council to continue to co-operate with the Department for Education Children’s Services Improvement Adviser.
It follows:
- Ofsted’s inspection report of Halton Borough Council’s children’s services, published 12 July 2024, that judged services to be Inadequate across all sub judgements
- an independent report by Steve Walker, the Halton Children’s Services Commissioner at the time
This direction replaces the earlier statutory direction issued to Halton Borough Council on 30 August 2024.
