This direction was revoked on 10 February 2025 following the report of the children’s services improvement adviser

This updated direction issued in August 2021 requires Stoke-on-Trent City Council to:

• co-operate with the newly appointed Children’s Services Commissioner – Paul Moffat
• continue to accept support from Leeds City Council as formal improvement partner
• engage in Department for Education reviews on a 6-monthly basis

This revised direction replaces the earlier statutory direction issued to Stoke-on-Trent Council on 13 March 2020.
