Details
In the event of a riot, victims of the resulting criminal damage to property, and insurers who pay out for riot damages, are entitled to claim for certain types of loss from the claims authority responsible for the geographical area where the riot took place.
You should first report any crime to the police. You should be given a crime number for your report, which you will need when claiming compensation.
You can also read the guidance for claims handlers which has been drafted by the CII New Gen Group in conjunction with the Home Office.
