Use this calculator to work out the nutrient budget for proposed developments in the catchment of River Avon SAC.

The calculator includes all the wastewater treatment work upgrades required under the new Water Industry Act 1991 duty, as announced in May 2024.

Instructions are given in the calculator, but you should also read the guidance document.

   The calculator has been updated with the new phosphorus concentration value for Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Works.

2. 24 May 2024

   Updated the calculator with a version that reflects the list of wastewater treatment works that are under a duty to meet specified nutrient removal levels.
