Roger Catchpole and John Catchpole trading as Stowlangtoft Estate has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Black Bourn River between National Grid References TL 95071 67082 and TL 94936 67317 near Stowlangtoft, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 72 cubic metres an hour
- 1,728 cubic metres a day
- 50,000 cubic metres a year
- between 01 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation and trickle irrigation of crops.
