This update to the Energy Security Plan (published March 2023) sets out the possible future role of gas storage and other forms of supply-side flexibility sources – liquefied natural gas and interconnectors – in gas security.
It presents the updated supply and demand picture, summarising key findings from analysis undertaken since the Energy Security Plan was published, and explores the future role that flexible sources of gas supply might play in gas security over the medium to long term, and the associated policy considerations for HM Government.
We have published the Medium range gas supply security assessment methodology alongside this update.
