Details
Secretary of State for Education Nicky Morgan writes to Rotherham metropolitan borough council with an accompanying direction. The direction requires the council to co-operate with a commissioner appointed to investigate and address the failings identified by Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector Sir Michael Wilshaw.
DfE issued the direction on 10 October 2014 following consultation with the council. The draft direction issued on 7 October 2014 is available for reference.
Sir Michael’s advice note, expressing concerns about the adequacy of Rotherham council’s children’s social care services, is also available.
