Since 2018 to 2019, the Department for Education has provided £11.3 million in funding to specific local authorities across England as a contribution to the cross-government Rough Sleeping Strategy. In 2023, funding of £3.2 million annually for 56 local authority sites in the 2023 to 2024 and 2024 to 2025 financial years was agreed.
