Details
The Highways Agency published three pilot route strategies in May 2013.
Since then the Highways Agency has split their motorway and trunk road network into 18 routes, and produced route strategy evidence reports for each route. These reports were published in April 2014 and combine feedback from more than 800 stakeholders and evidence gathered internally.
The Highways Agency has used these evidence reports to identify priorities, challenges and opportunities. These have fed into the creation of a route strategy for each route. Route strategies will establish the Highways Agency’s outline operational and investment priorities for the period April 2015 – March 2020, provide a forward look to March 2021 - and give an indication of the priorities beyond that.
