The MCA has Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Royal Navy regarding converting to gain Merchant Navy certification. The flow diagrams above detail the conversion routes available from Royal Navy certification to Merchant Navy certification, issued by the MCA.
This is guidance to all Owners, Masters, Officers, Ratings and those concerned with maritime training. This guidance replaces the diagrams published on UK seafarer careers: Training provision, information and examination syllabuses. This replacement has been made for formatting and accessibility purposes only, no content has been amended during this move.
