This section of case histories provides guidance to departments on the consideration of options, including alternatives to regulations, in impact assessments. The document summarises existing better regulation framework and HM Treasury guidance and includes examples of cases the RPC has seen for scrutiny and advice, in areas such as health, transport and the labour market.
