Saint-Gobain Construction Products UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency to vary two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The applications relate to full licence AN/030/0003/012 for dust suppression at 126,959 cubic metres per year and transfer licence AN/030/0003/011 for dewatering at 168,471 cubic metres per year. Both licences abstract water all year from underground strata comprising Penarth and Lias Group mudstones at Bantycock Quarry, near Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire.
The applications are seeking to extend the area from which abstraction takes place. The current area is located on land contained within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the following National Grid References (NGRs) SK 80753 50699, SK 82011 50658, SK 82646 48638 and SK 80556 48560 and is to be extended to the boundary formed by straight lines running between NGRs SK 80383 47358, SK 81918 48176, SK 81971 50576 and SK 80759 50167.
No other changes are proposed to the two licences and the quantities will remain unchanged.
