Saint-Gobain Construction Products UK Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from underground strata known as Branscombe Formation at Ratcliffe-On-Soar Power Station at National Grid Reference SK 50200 30850 to transfer it to the River Trent at National Grid Reference SK 49740 30930 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 216 cubic metres an hour
- 5,184 cubic metres a day
- 554,070 cubic metres a year.
Abstraction will take place all year round.
