The attractive package for all posts includes a tax-free Cost of Living Allowance (COLA), this is variable and related to family size. A tax free transfer grant is also payable. Accommodation is free for the first 5 years, with subsidised heating and electricity. For internal applicants, please note that the 5 year rule is not altered if you are successful in attaining a new appointment with SCE.
Not all allowances apply to Fixed Term Appointments.
Please be advised that the department is conducting a review of all pay related allowances which could impact on those allowances that the post currently being advertised attracts.
Candidates attending interviews overseas should ensure that they have adequate travel insurance.
Salary values for teaching posts mirror those in the England and Wales teachers pay and conditions document. In order to fulfill the security and vetting requirements, it is normally expected that applicants will have been UK residents for 3 out of 5 years. Time spent outside of the UK over and above this level extends the time taken to complete the checks (usually over the normal term notice period) and in some cases, may result in non completion as a result of insufficient evidence.
All posts require an Enhanced Disclosure from DBS. You must have a UK recognised teaching qualification.
Service Children’s Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share in this commitment. The MOD is an equal opportunities employer and seeks to reflect the diverse community it serves. Applications are welcome from anyone who meets the stated requirements.
