This report summarises the findings of a seminar to gather the views of experts on the big data research and development landscape.

Participants were asked to consider:

• the strengths and weaknesses of big data research in the UK
• how the UK compares internationally
• future concerns for the sector

This seminar was one of a series organised by CST as part of a project on the UK knowledge landscape. The aim of this project is to build a picture of the whole research landscape in the UK and to develop a stronger evidence base.
