The Secretary of State’s directions to the Parole Board deal with things the Parole Board should take into account when considering cases. They also set limits to the Parole Board’s powers and define what the Parole Board can and can’t do.
The August 2004 directions relating to advice on suitability for open conditions remains in force but all other directions were withdrawn in July 2013 and can be found on the National Archives website.
