Global Business Mobility Service Supplier – relevant trade agreements and sectors

This document provides information on eligible trade agreements and sectoral coverage on the Global Business Mobility Service Supplier route. For further information on this route, see the Service Supplier visa (Global Business Mobility) page on GOV.UK. Details on how to sponsor a worker on this route can be found in the Global Business Mobility sponsor guidance.

The work the applicant is coming to do must be for a service covered by one of the UK’s international trade agreements where that agreement is currently in force or being provisionally applied. Eligible trade agreements are listed in the table below. The first column contains a three-letter abbreviation, which is used in the tables containing detailed information on the sectors covered under each agreement. The second column gives the name of the agreement, with a link to the relevant agreement documents.

How to use the tables

Identify the sector in which the worker will supply a contracted service is operating. For example, if the contract is for the supply of architectural drawings and advice, the relevant sector is ‘architectural services’.

Sectors covered by the UK’s commitments are listed in column 1. If the sector is not listed, the worker cannot be sponsored on the Service Supplier route.

If the sector is listed, read across the other columns. Where the relevant box states ‘Yes’, there is a relevant commitment, which means the worker may be sponsored as a Service Supplier if the overseas service provider is established on the territory of a country covered by the agreement in question, and the worker meets the relevant nationality or residence requirements.

Refer to the table of eligible trade agreements above for an explanation of the abbreviations used and links to published information on each agreement.
