Details
The Department for Work and Pensions is currently testing a white paper initiative called ‘Severe Disability Group’. This looks to reduce the burden on customers with life long disabling conditions to fill in PIP application forms and attend assessments. This is guidance for clinicians on the information they need to provide about a customer’s condition to identify if there is enough information to change a customer’s award.

Under 'Cardiorespiratory conditions', changed the limiting symptoms for pulmonary arterial hypertension on optimal medical therapy from 'NYHA 3 to 4' to 'NYHA IV'.

Under 'Examples of conditions that are likely to meet the criteria (for illustrative purposes only and not to be regarded as a comprehensive list' - the ' - heart failure.. limiting symptoms' have changed from 'NYHA 3 to 4' to 'NYHA 4'. This is due to a change in criteria for heart failure patients.
