Severn Trent Water Limited: applications made to abstract water

Details of the application

Severn Trent Water Limited have applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application seeks to vary licence serial numbers 03/28/71/0001 and 03/28/71/0041 which authorise abstraction of water from groundwater at National Grid References SK 60 67, SK 60 68, and SK 60 70.

The proposed variations are as follows:

For 03/28/71/0001 – The addition of two aggregate conditions; a maximum annual abstraction of 4,998,000 cubic metres from licences 03/28/71/0001 and 03/28/71/0041, and a rolling 15-year aggregate on 03/28/71/0001.

For 03/28/71/0041 – an increase in annual abstraction to 3,022,200 cubic metres and a rolling 15-year aggregate on 03/28/71/0041.

Both applications are linked to the Water Industry National Environment Programme scheme.
