Published 28 September 2016
Applies to England
1. Higher education learning aims request 2016
Action
You must submit requests for new higher education learning aims for the 2015 to 2016 funding year by Friday, 16 September.
This will be the final opportunity to allow us to create and upload them to the learning aim reference service (LARS) database for the R14 submission, which opens on 7 October.
The form and guidance are available to download on the ILR page on GOV.UK.
Please email the completed forms and all relevant approval information to the service desk.
2. The hub and data collections service: new website
Information
As previously communicated in Update 322, the Hub and the data collections service moved to a new infrastructure and the website is now complete. There were no data returns during the transition period.
The data collections service reopened on Tuesday, 23 August and all users will be automatically redirected to the new web address for the data collections service. Please update any bookmarks, favourites or shortcuts with the new web address.
For further information or related queries, please email the service desk.
3. Financial assurance and year-end funding claims 2015 to 2016
Information
Providers funded through a grant for their Adult Skills Budget (ASB) must make a year end funding claim by 6.00pm Friday, 16 September. We will pre-populate your digital claim form with your R13 individual learner record (ILR) information.
You must ensure your ILR data returns are correct and that you have the appropriate evidence to confirm eligibility for funding. Please use the Funding Rules Monitoring reports in the Hub to review any funding and data queries that we have identified before submitting your next data return.
We may need to review ILR submissions for accuracy where we identify higher volumes of queries. We will process claims by the end of December.
For further information or related queries, please contact your Business Operations Provider Manager.
4. Education and Training Foundation: staff individualised record system
Information
The Education and Training Foundation has launched a new staff individualised record (SIR) system, which collects data about the FE and skills workforce each year.
The SIR will help you to collect, analyse and benchmark vital management data about your workforce and benchmark your organisation against others.
The window for data submission for the academic year 2015 to 2016 will close on Friday, 30 September. Please login or register to submit your data now.
For further information, please email SIR data collection.
