On 21 July 2014, the government laid the following draft regulations in Parliament:
- Shared Parental Leave Regulations 2014
- Statutory Shared Parental Pay (General) Regulations 2014
- Maternity and Adoption Leave (Curtailment of Statutory Rights to Leave) Regulations 2014
On 13 October, further regulations were laid:

These draft regulations are subject to the affirmative resolution procedure and will be debated by both Houses of Parliament.
