Singapore-UK joint statement 2021: a partnership for the future

The Foreign Secretary and the Singaporean Foreign Minister agreed a statement on expanding cooperation between both countries for mutual prosperity and security.

Details

On behalf of the UK and Singapore governments, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab and Foreign Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan agreed a joint statement reaffirming both countries’ commitment to free trade, climate action, and sustainability.

The joint statement also sets out the shared approach on technology, knowledge and education, security and resilience, and mutual human rights obligations. It follows the Free Trade Agreement signed by Singapore and the UK in December 2020.
