The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Derek Bradshaw and Lucy Bradshaw.

The variation is for: Extension of the permit boundary to include land on all sides to increase the processing and storage capacity of the site (see Drawing No. 3921/2185/04 for details of the existing and proposed permit boundaries); b) To increase the annual throughput of the site from 4,999 tonnes per year to <75,000 tonnes per annum. c) To allow the operator to undertake the same list of activities permitted in Table 1.1 the SR 2015 No 6 permit (i.e. Treatment consisting only of manual sorting, separation, screening, baling, shredding, crushing or compaction of waste into different components for disposal, [no more than 50 tonnes per day] or recovery). d) To remove the restriction for storage of wastes on site to enable this to be controlled by the sites management documentation (i.e. EMS and FPP). e) To update the conditions of the permit into a modern-style permit. f) To increase the list of wastes permitted for acceptance at the site to those permitted by the standard rules permit SR 2015 No 6 and to include the waste code 19 12 12 to allow the acceptance of ‘co-mingled recyclable waste and part –processed mixed non-hazardous waste from other waste management sites’.

treatment processes on site may include the following: • Compacting (by loading shovel / 360° excavator and baling equipment) • Sorting (with loading shovel / 360° excavator or by hand) • Screening (by using appropriate mechanical screening plant and equipment) • Shredding (by using appropriate mechanical shredding plant and equipment) • Separation (by using appropriate mechanical screening plant and equipment) • Blending (by loading shovel / 360° wheeled excavator).
