Followed the consultation on the future direction of skills policy, summarising some public responses to it. Sets out the government’s original strategy on improving and using skills for sustainable economic growth, and to extend social mobility and inclusion. Shows how the skills system was reformed to better meet the needs of employers and learners.

An updated national skills strategy Rigour and Responsiveness in Skills plans to make the skills system more rigorous and responsive to need.
