Feedback on State of the Nation launch

  1. The Chair provided an update on press activities surrounding the State of the Nation report. The Chair expressed her gratitude to Commissioners and secretariat for their hard work in preparing and publishing the report. Nero Ughwujabo, Number 10 special adviser, had offered to convene a meeting of special advisers across Government to consider the recommendations.

Strategy day – part 1

  1. Commissioners discussed the importance of a strategy that sets out how the Commission will work over the coming years.

Discussion included:

  • a review of the key milestones and achievements of the Secretariat and The Commissioners over the previous 6 months
  • a session to establish the working values of the Commission
  • a review and reflection on the Commission’s statutory obligations and our approach to delivering against them
  • a session on the working relationship between the Commissioners and Secretariat members
  1. It was confirmed that the June and July Board meetings would continue to be used to further develop the strategy.
