Details

The 1996 UK-South Korea Double Taxation Convention has been modified by the Multilateral Instrument (MLI).

The modifications made by the MLI are effective in respect of the 1996 UK-South Korea Double Taxation Convention for both countries, for taxes withheld at source, from 1 January 2021.

In the UK:

  • Corporation Tax, from 1 April 2021
  • Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax, from 6 April 2021

In South Korea:

  • all other taxes levied by South Korea, for taxable periods beginning on or after 1 March 2021
